Extensive Thyroid Profile

This simple blood test gives a detailed picture of how your thyroid is really functioning — not just what your TSH shows. It measures key markers including TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies to assess hormone production, conversion, and signs of thyroid autoimmunity.

This type of testing is especially helpful if you have a diagnosed thyroid condition, ongoing symptoms, or “normal” results from standard GP testing but still don’t feel well.

Where appropriate, I may also recommend a urinary iodine test if this hasn’t been checked before, as low iodine levels can affect thyroid hormone production and contribute to hypothyroidism and thyroid nodules.

For more on why TSH alone isn’t enough, read this post.

This stress hormone test measures cortisol, DHEA, and secretory IgA using four saliva samples across a 12-hour period, allowing us to see how your stress hormones and immune markers respond throughout the day. This pattern-based insight is far more informative than a single snapshot.

It helps uncover the hidden biochemical drivers behind symptoms like anxiety, low mood, persistent fatigue, blood sugar instability, weight changes, and reduced stress resilience — making it especially useful for those navigating chronic stress, chronic fatigue, or recurrent infections.

This test is collected at home, with samples simply posted back for analysis.

SIBO Breath Testing

This simple at-home breath test allows us to detect bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is a common gut disorder that can drive ongoing symptoms such as bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, maldigestion, and malabsorption. SIBO is especially common in people with hypothyroidism due to
slower gut motility.

Depending on your clinical presentation, a lactulose, glucose, and/or fructose breath test may be recommended.

This advanced at-home stool test offers comprehensive microbiome testing in NZ, using DNA-based technology to analyse the microorganisms in your gut. From a single sample, it identifies beneficial bacteria, pathogenic and opportunistic microbes, fungi, viruses, and parasites, along with key immune and digestive markers.

It provides insight into gut balance, inflammation, digestion, and immune function.

Ideal for those with chronic digestive symptoms, bloating, food sensitivities, recurrent infections, autoimmune conditions, skin concerns, unexplained fatigue, or persistent gut health issues that haven’t improved with standard testing or treatments.

Hair mineral and metal analysis is a simple, non-invasive test that measures both minerals and toxic metals in hair, providing insight into exposures and imbalances over the past 1–3 months. Hair captures substances from the bloodstream as it grows, making it an ideal way to assess long-term accumulation.

The test screens 17 essential minerals alongside 18 potentially harmful metals, such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic.

While mineral levels offer a snapshot of nutrient exposure, toxic metals are particularly important for thyroid and endocrine health, as they can interfere with hormone production, conversion, and overall gland function.

This analysis is especially useful for individuals concerned about environmental or occupational exposures, unexplained fatigue, hormonal imbalances, or chronic health issues that may be linked to toxic metals.
